Volunteer Opportunities at Helping Up Mission

Volunteering is a great way for you, your family, church, school, or organization to make a difference in Baltimore by serving people who may not be as fortunate. Each year, people from all over the country donate time to the Mission, either meeting a specific need or providing a special service or skill:

- Tutoring in the Mission's Education Services Center

Mentoring one or more men in the Spiritual Recovery Program

- Serving a meal (individually or as a group)

- Providing professional services: Medical, Legal, Financial Counseling, Etc.

- Assisting with Holiday banquets and other Special Events

How Do I Start?

You can connect as a prospective volunteer either online or in person.

Come as a Volunteer Group

We also have volunteer service opportunities for small groups (up to 10 or 12) to help serve meals, and other work projects lasting up to 2 hours.  To schedule your group, call the Development Department at 410-675-HELP (4357), or e-mail us at volunteering@helpingup.org

Begin with a Visit

We invite you come for an Orientation and Tour of the Mission and discuss ways to use your time and talents.  This meeting, that takes about an hour, can immediately precede a "First Serve" opportunity, commonly serving a lunch or dinner meal. To schedule a tour, call the Development Department at 410-675-HELP (4357), or e-mail us at volunteering@helpingup.org.
